THE BEAUTY SHELF// Current Faves in June

I thought it would be good to do a quick beauty post on some of my current favourites, some of my tried and trues and some new in bits too.

Vieve Skin Nova Complexion Balm in shade Medium. This is new in but I’m absolutely LOVING it! Buildable light coverage. It Blurs and perfects whilst nourishing the skin with so many amazing skin boosting properties. It’s perfect for daily wear. And I’ll definitely repurchase.

Also New is the Refy Water Collection I wasn’t sure what to expect. But the texture is as the name suggests – very water-like and light. It’s a cushion compact that you stamp the brush into. The colour pay off is insane. It gives the most beautiful glow of colour with so much hydration. But not heavy or powdery. I went for the bundle kit as shown here as the price is less. I’m using the bronzer, blush & the double ended brush. The brush is soft but definitely a stipple brush, as this seems to work better with the texture of the products. It’s definitely a summer must have. Would be perfect on its own with just a touch of concealer and mascara. Perfect for holiday’s. I’m using shade Sol in the Bronzer – I could have gone a shade lighter which I’ll do if I repurchase. I’m using shade Lychee in the Blush. The Blush is also so highly pigmented. Really pretty colour. You need very little. But the glow and colour is beautiful.

The NYX Lip Lingerie Lip Liner Stain in Steamy Spice has been a favourite for a while. Multiple uses. It’s an amazing lip liner that does not budge even after eating and drinking. Just add lip gloss or lipstick to fake a fuller lip. And as a plus you can also use it across the nose to add fake freckles or enhance the freckles you have. It’s a permanent yes for me.

The Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm. I’ve used this for 10 years or more. The smell is divine. Like you’re in a spa. It’s perfect as a double cleanse. Balm to oil to milk. Takes makeup off with ease. Wiped away with a warm cotton cloth. And it can also be used as a hydrating mask. It’s just a GOAT produc

Beauty Pie Wonderscrub. It’s amazing. A gentle fine microdermabrasion exfoliator. I use it a few times a week to keep my complexion clear from bumps and texture due to changing hormones. It’s clay-like but when you add water it emulsifies. It’s been on my shelf for years. And sissy swears by it too.

For a chemical exfoliant a few times a week I use Medicube EHA & BHA pore refining pads. You take one and sweep across face. It leaves an instant glow. They can be used daily but I can get redness easily, so I keep it to only a few times a week alternating with my scrub.

Trinny London’s Naked Ambition Vitamin C. Award winning for a reason. This has made such a difference to my skin. Dark spots, pores and general glow. I can’t be without it now after consistent use for almost a year. Use it in the morning. Always follow with SPF.

Byoma’s Moisturising Rich Cream. It’s a Korean brand and it’s fantastic. It doesn’t break the bank, it’s not heavy or pore clogging. And even though it’s a bargain it doesn’t reflect in the results – it gives wonderful hydration that lasts all day and is the perfect base for makeup. Use daily in morning and night

Trinny again. But gosh the girl is good!! Overnight Sensation Retinal. I love this so much too and have used for a few years since it launched. It smooths skin. Reduces fine lines. Generally turns back the time a bit without injectables. At night only. And careful during the summer. Use an SPF always when using retinols.

The Summer Friday’s Jet Lag Mask – Its basically a skin saviour in the tube. It’s full of hydration – hyaluronic acid and squalane. It plumps so much and whether you use it just as a mask and wipe off, or you leave on as a night moisturiser as I do, it leaves your skin so happy and hydrated

Also Summer Friday’s. The ShadeDrops Broad spectrum SPF. I came across this as a free sample and loved it. It’s a mineral sunscreen that covers for UVA & UVB. It’s light and leaves the skin with an amazing sheen. The Last step in the routine.

And finally Lips. Goop’s Clean Nourishing Lip Balm in Peony is my go to ride or die. I’ve tried hundreds and this is by far the best. Smooth, soft, just enough sheen and colour and so comfortable.

I’ll do more beauty pieces in the next few weeks. Some hair care and what’s in my makeup bag.

Have a great day,

Kate x
